Healthy Holiday Habits

The holiday home stretch is upon us! With craziness in the office, ugly sweater parties left and right, and an endless “nice” list to shop for it’s easy to let your healthy habits fall to the wayside. The next thing you know you’ve got the sniffles and are on bed rest for the rest of the holiday season! Let’s not let that happen with these easy to follow healthy holiday habits!

1. Sleep

Make sure you are still getting roughly 7-9 hours of sleep a night. You will think better, eat better, have a better mood, the list goes on! So much starts with just a good night’s slumber.

2. Superfood Smoothies and/or Juicing

Smoothies and juices are one of the easiest and quickest ways to pack in a ton of nutrients in a single serving. We love throwing a ton of “superfoods” into our recipes to give us energy, detoxify, and nourish our bodies from the inside out! We also like to add a plant-based protein powder to keep us full if we are on the go.

3. Exercise

Keeping your heart pumping is also a necessity for staying healthy. Even if you only have 20 minutes go for a brisk walk or a jog.

4. Stay Hydrated

Do your body good and stay quenched! Staying hydrated will also improve your mood, your metabolism and will also keep your skin looking youthful and fresh! Aim to consume half your body weight in ounces every day.

5. Continue Your SPF Routine

Just because the temperature is lower doesn’t mean the UV index is too! Make sure to keep up your SPF routine even through the winter. Daily exposure makes up roughly 90% of premature aging!

6. Stress Relief

Tune out and get back to your center. Our favorite ways to take a step back and relax is through yoga and meditation. This helps us push out any feelings of negativity, stress, or being overwhelmed. Plus, it’s a great workout!
